Cash Assistance & Support
Cash Assistance is available for TANF families in need of cash that meet family eligibility requirements. Support services help eligible families with many daily and specialty support needs.

Child Care Subsidy Program
The Tribal CCDF Program is a child care subsidy program which enables low-income parents and parents receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) to work or to participate in the educational or training programs they need in order to work. Funds are also used to serve children in protective services or under court ordered supervision. In addition, a portion of CCDF funds is also used to enhance child care quality and availability. Parents may also receive consumer education on such topics as what to look for in a quality child care provider.

Child Care Services
Spokane Tribal TANF offers licensed Children�s Centers at the Spokane site only & offers an additional Drop Off Center for parent�s needing brief childcare during their visit to the Spokane site.

Computer Lab
Both sites have computer rooms with high-speed Internet access available during the day for all clients and visitors to check on email, do research or homework.
Employment Search
The key to becoming self-sufficient is finding an employer that you respect and respects you. We provide job search opportunities through an on-site and online job board. Some online job postings will allow you to apply online.

General Education Development Classes (GED)
Earning a GED Credential is equal to receiving a high school diploma and is an important step in gaining a better job, and becoming a self-sufficient adult. Our open enrollment classes start shortly students sign up. This class qualifies towards your STOI-TANF core hours.

Job Board
Job Preparation
We help you prepare qualifying for a job through our GED classes, Job Skills Training, and basic computer training. This class qualifies towards your STOI-TANF core hours. (need more input?)
Non-Custodial Parent Support Services
The TANF Program may provide support services to a non-custodial parent for the purpose of assisting this individual to start or enhance child support payments to the family. Support Services may include transportation assistance related to employment, work related education and training, job search and readiness activities, required personal tools, equipment and uniforms, union fees, dues and job/business licensing costs. Subject to the availability of funds services may be provided for no more than 12 months or until the individual�s income level reaches 200% of the Federal poverty level, whichever comes first.
Transitional Support Services
Families transitioning out of TANF�s cash assistance due to sufficient income levels, both earned and unearned are still eligible for limited case management services to assist with childcare, job training, education and child support collection assistance and extended support services for job retention purposes. Subject to the availability of funds, transitional support services will be provided for a period of twelve months for families who are no longer receiving cash assistance due to sufficient income levels, both earned and unearned.
Youth Activities and Youth Employment Programs
The Youth Activities Program is a free program, which provides the opportunity for the Native American Youth from Spokane and surrounding counties to participate in educational, cultural and prevention activities throughout the year. The Youth Employment Program is designed to give our youth the opportunity to learn on-the-job experience, teamwork, work ethics/habits, accountability and reliability. Our goal is to give youth the understanding of financial independence in the hopes it prevents them from relying on assistance-based programs in their future.
