State Services
Food stamps, child-care subsidy, medical benefits are State Services and are not administered through Spokane Tribal TANF; but a state financial worker is available at both locations for your convenience.
Your current financial and family situation will determine what services you may be eligible for and for what length of time you can receive aid, known as your certification period. Some State TANF programs, like children's medical have six-month certification periods. Others, like food stamps, can have certification periods as short as two months. When your benefits are approved, your certification period is determined.
About six weeks before your eligibility period is about to expire you will receive an eligibility review notice to apply for continued benefits. If you cannot keep your eligibility review appointment because of a work or school conflict, or other reasons, please call your caseworker to make other arrangements. Sometimes your eligibility review can be done over the phone. You can also submit an eligibility review online using the Washington DSHS Online Eligibility Review Form. https://fortress.wa.gov/dshs/f2esaapps/esaosa/
You can check your eligibility for food stamps, child-care subsidy and medical benefits at this State Services link. http://www.dshs.wa.gov/esa/tec/
